In May last year, two men wearing wigs broke into a links of london sale store and got away with 47 gems, including yellow diamonds.
The jewels were valued at about 23 million pounds Links of London Charms, the largest amount ever stolen in a British robbery U Charm.
Nebojsa Danic, 34, and another man, both from Serbia and Montenegro, received prison sentences at London's Old Bailey criminal court Wednesday V Charm.
According to Scotland Yard, the international crime cartel the two men belonged to was suspected of involvement in a spate of jewelry heists since about 2002 in six countries--Britain, Spain, Switzerland, France, Germany and Belgium--targeting only expensive diamonds.
In each case, the thieves disguised themselves with wigs, with a man and a woman pretending to be a couple casing the jewelry stores and the robbers escaping on motorcycles.
